I've been cooking everyday at home for myself and everyone I know and love for as long as I can remember. And almost everyday a few friends will ask me, with a defeated sigh, "What should I make for dinner tonight?" Sometimes my reply is, "Is it already time to make dinner again?" But the fact is, I do tend to think about dinner throughout the day because it' the prize for making it across the finish line.
I've started this blog for all of us who cook everyday (or almost) and occasionally get bored or brain dead or catch a bout of ennui, yet dinner still has to be made. Thanks for reading. I hope you'll send me ideas too.
What more can you say about this dinner? Kinda great if it's homemade mac n Cheese with hot dogs cut up into it. Kinda not so great when it's out of the box. But that's the way we're rolling today.
Today I made fresh peas from the farmers market with bacon (cut into small pieces) and some garlic all sauteed in olive oil. If you like peas this is a yummy dish I learned in Spain.
Classic! On the rare occasion we would get this childhood treat, my mother would always serve it with steamed broccoli. Just because she couldn't bear to not have anything green on the table!
